South Plains College

SPC is the region's leader in workforce training on the South Plains of West Texas.  Levelland is proud to be the home campus of SPC, which offers numerous training programs and is your source for administering and delivering Texas Workforce Commission Skills Development Fund grants and training. 
 

SPC cooperates with business and industry to develop workforce training classes and programs for the upgrading of technical skills of present employees and for teaching job-entry skills to potential employees.  Courses can be conducted in the colleges state-of-the-art classrooms or on-site at your business.

 

Texas Tech University


Texas Tech University (Tech), just 30 minutes east of Levelland, prides itself on being a major comprehensive research university that retains the sense of a smaller liberal arts institution.  Tech has a student enrollment of over 30,000 and has achieved recognition as a Tier 1 university. Tech students come from every county in Texas, all 50 states and more than 90 foreign countries.

Tech offers 150 undergraduate degree programs through 11 academic colleges, a graduate school and a school of law.  Tech also offers more that 100 master’s degree programs and 50 doctoral degree programs.

 

Wayland Baptist University


Wayland Baptist University (WBU) began in 1908 as the dream of pioneers who respected the life-altering value of education.  Now the oldest university in continuous existence on the High Plains of Texas, Wayland Baptist reaffirms that commitment every day through a distinctive combination of offerings.


WBU offers more than 40 undergraduate majors, more than a dozen pre-professional programs, and nine graduate programs.  It’s main campus is located in Plainview, Texas with additional Texas campuses in Amarillo, Lubbock, San Antonio, and Wichita Falls.

 

Lubbock Christian University


Established in 1957 by members of the Churches of Christ, Lubbock Christian University’s (LCU) mission is to teach students the spiritual dimension of life, provide a quality education and to support a system of values for living and service to family, community and church.

LCU offers more than 70 academic programs covering a broad spectrum of disciplines, including 35 undergraduate majors, a Scholars Colloquium and an Honors College, LCU has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a Top 20 Comprehensive College in the Western Region.

 

West Texas A&M University


West Texas A&M University (WT) is part of the Texas A&M University System, is a public university located in Canyon, Texas with select upper-level and graduate classes offered in downtown Amarillo at the new WTAMU Amarillo Center.  In 1933, the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum was opened on the West Texas campus.  Intially a 25,000 square foot building, the museum has grown to over 285,000 square feet, making it the largest State-supported museum in Texas.

WT offers 62 undergraduate programs, 41 masters’ degree programs and one doctoral program.
